Since its launch in Taiwan in 2000, the APSTH Congress has been held every two years in the cities of Asia-Pacific region and is now recognized as a key event in our field of research. Taiwan has the honor of hosting the congress for the second time in 16 years with a program designed to foster international exchange and friendship in the pursuit of the newest medical knowledge on thrombosis and hemostasis. The APSTH Congress is an excellent opportunity to hear from recognized experts from related fields, to meet new young scientists and physicians, and to reconnect with old friends.
Outside of the congress itself, Taipei is a city full of passion and vitality with an integrated culture that is rich, colorful, and full of exciting things for visitors to see and do. There is a National Palace Museum which hosts the world’s largest collections of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artwork. There are many historic monuments to see, such as Lungshan Temple, Fort San Domingo and The Grand Hotel, or one can experience the excellence of modern architecture, such as Taipei 101. Visitors can enjoy authentic Taiwanese food, explore the tastes of the different provinces of China, or sample a variety of international cuisines, while the Eslite bookstore is open 24 hours a day to meet the needs of the most avid readers. These are just a few of the many city highlights awaiting you in vibrant and exciting Taipei.
As President of the APSTH Congress, I believe our scientific and social programs and the beauty of our city will intrigue you all, and I look forward to meeting you in Taipei in 2016!
Best Regards,
